Matthew & Robyn
How we got here
Invisible string theory, a first date that somehow included both families, and a lot of flowers.
We met on October 4, 2024. Our first date somehow ended with meeting almost everyone's family in one go: Matthew's sister, her husband, his grandma, mom and dad, and Robyn's mom. It was a lot. It was also kind of perfect. We kept finding out we already knew the same people and had nearly crossed paths more times than we could count. We call it invisible string theory. Shared friends, overlapping lives, and somehow we'd never met until then.

"We'd been circling the same people and the same places our whole lives — we just needed October to catch up."

Exactly one month later, on November 4, Matthew showed up with an armful of flowers and asked Robyn to be his girlfriend. What followed looks a lot like us. We lift together. We chase whimsy and Harry Potter-level fantasy. We blast country music, dance whenever we can, throw parties at our place, and gather the people we love. On March 15, 2026, Matthew proposed at Backyard Winery in Langley, a spot we'd gone back to again and again (including our one-year anniversary). Now we're heading to Mt. Lehman Meadows on August 20, 2027, boots and all, to make it official with you.
We can't wait to celebrate with you.
